ABOUT TIFF

Tiff McColl is an independent haircutter based in the San Francisco Bay Area. You can find them working behind the chair at Marmalade Salon. They specialize in creating expressive shapes worn best in their natural state and believe in the transformative effects of a good haircut.

Tiff got their start in hairdressing as an apprentice at Edo Salon under the mentorship of Jayne Matthews where they built a strong foundation in straight razor haircutting. They have since sought education from around the globe to become versed in many tools with the intention of being able to best serve all hair textures. Tiff is also a budding
educator who seeks to empower other stylists wishing to develop their straight razor skills.

Tiff’s personal style evolved over the years as a nightlife performer and organizer in San Francisco’s queer underground club scene. Although they live a much more peaceful life outside of the salon these days, they remain an aesthetic shapeshifter and draw inspiration from many different subcultures, eras, and forms found in nature. Most of all, they are inspired by their diverse clientele who traverse all walks of life.

Outside of cutting hair, Tiff attempts to stay grounded through solo travel, gardening and their yoga practice. They are the guardian of two majestic, geriatric chihuahuas—Bruce Wayne and Kewpie!
