ABOUT TIFF

Tiff McColl is an independent haircutter based in the San Francisco Bay Area. You can find them working behind the chair at Marmalade Salon Wednesday-Saturday. They specialize in creating expressive shapes worn best in their natural state and believe that a good haircut can change your life.

Tiff began their career as an apprentice at Edo Salon in San Francisco,CA. Under the mentorship of Jayne Matthews and a team of renowned stylists,they built their foundation in intuitive straight razor haircutting. They have since sought education from around the globe to become versed in many tools with the intention of being able to best serve all hair textures. Tiff’s passion for learning the craft of haircutting is what led them to teaching other stylists— they are an emerging educator specializing in straight razor technique.

Tiff spent many years as a performer and pivotal figure in San Francisco’s queer underground club scene. Although they live a much more peaceful life outside of the salon these days, they remain an aesthetic shapeshifter and pull inspiration from many areas of life. Tiff’s haircuts are carved with intention, feel lived-in and grow out beautifully. There an unmistakable quality in their work that sets it apart as uniquely their own.
